Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant Albuquerque,New Mexico
- First Assist – CT/CV Surgery – TAVR, CABG, MitraClip, Thoracic
- Endoscopic Vein Harvesting
- OR/ICU/Floor/Clinic mix
- Begins patient rounds at 0700. Sees post-op patients in IRR, writes progress notes & transfers orders as needed. And enters orders in PEO
OR – to be in OR by 0730 and assists in having patient prepped, draped, 7 ready for 0800 start.
Serves as Floor PA ML to start patient rounds on cardiac units. Removes pacer wires and chest tubes as needed.
Prepares post op patient for discharge (prescriptions, coumadin, teaching, post-surgical teaching) and dictates discharge summaries.
Checks all outstanding labs and CXR on in house patients.
Responsible for seeing post op patients in office.
Responsible for seeing pre op patients in office and ensuring H & P’s, data sheets, pre-op orders & labs completed.
Serves as on-call PA ML to check out with on-call surgeon at end of day. Checks pre-op patient labs & x-rays.
Serves as Weekend call PA to meet with on-call surgeon.
- Candidate will work M-F and work minimal weekends, 1/4 to 1/5
